The Kids Network delivers trauma-informed, child-led mentoring programmes for children who would benefit from additional social and emotional support. The organisation matches children with trained volunteer mentors for one-to-one weekly sessions over the course of a year. Mentors and children take part in activities chosen by the child, using a
small activity budget to explore interests, practise decision making and build confidence. The programme focuses on improving children’s mental health, wellbeing, resilience and sense of connection. The Kids Network also works with schools, caregivers and local partners to identify children who may benefit from mentoring and to support consistent participation. It provides structured training, resources and ongoing guidance for volunteers to ensure safe, engaging and responsive mentoring relationships.
