The Cumnock Tryst presents an annual multi-day music festival featuring concerts by professional musicians and performances involving local participants. The organisation also runs a year-round programme of concerts and musical events. Through projects such as A Musical Celebration of the Coalfields, Compose the Environment, Create! and Blue Sky
Counterpoint, The Cumnock Tryst delivers community music-making opportunities with schools, community groups and people with disabilities. It operates an un-auditioned Festival Chorus that rehearses each year towards a festival performance with professional ensembles. The Cumnock Tryst International Summer School for Composers offers tuition, workshops and public performances for adult composers. These activities combine performance, education and participation for music makers and listeners with a wide range of experience.
