The Benji Project teaches mindfulness and self-compassion tools to young people, their families, and their communities. The organization offers school-based and after-school classes, workshops, and youth summer camps that focus on stress management and emotional resilience. Its programs use the Mindful Self-Compassion for Teens curriculum,
incorporating meditation, games, art activities, and nature-based experiences. The Benji Project runs specialized offerings such as Pride Camp for LGBTQ+ youth and allies, Mindfulness on Land and Sea camps in partnership with maritime educators, and parenting circles for caregivers. It also organizes arts intensives and public events tied to Mental Health Awareness Month that use collaborative art to reflect youth mental health experiences. Across these activities, participants practice paying attention to the present moment and developing kinder inner responses to challenges.
