Company Performance Metrics
The Alternative School provides independent specialist schooling and alternative education programmes for young people who do not engage with mainstream education. The organisation operates a group of independent specialist schools that support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and other additional needs. It offers holistic,
pupil-centred education from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, including full-time, part-time, home education and remote learning packages. The Alternative School delivers personalised study programmes leading to GCSEs, BTEC qualifications and the Duke of Edinburgh Award for older pupils. Its campuses include settings that specialise in respite and assessment, long-term high needs provision and outdoor and forest-based education. Referrals typically come from mainstream schools, children’s homes and local authority SEND teams, with the aim of enabling young people to gain meaningful qualifications and prepare for further education, apprenticeships or employment.
