Tameside Community Computers CIC provides refurbished laptops, desktops, tablets, and mobile phones to people experiencing digital poverty, alongside internet access support. The organisation accepts donated technology from individuals and organisations, securely erases data, refurbishes suitable devices, and supplies them at low cost or via
referral schemes. Tameside Community Computers CIC delivers digital skills training and basic tech support to help recipients use devices for education, work, and everyday online tasks. Devices that are too old or uneconomical to repair are dismantled and recycled through a zero waste e-waste process, with any proceeds reinvested into refurbishing further equipment. The organisation also partners with schools, charities, businesses, and community groups to coordinate referrals, collections, and larger-scale donation projects.
