StoneWater Capital LLC is a specialized alternative asset management firm focused on developing Asia and Emerging Markets.
The firm was founded in 2003 by former partners of Warburg Pincus, a global private equity firm. The members of our team have significant public and private equity investment expertise, and extensive experience living,
working and investing in emerging markets.
StoneWater’s investment strategy is to preserve and grow capital by investing through experienced managers based locally in the emerging market economies in which they invest. They are committed to a “private equity in the public markets” investment philosophy. Our managers have a long-term investment horizon, select securities based on deep, original, and often contrarian research, and manage concentrated, high conviction, “best ideas” portfolios. They effectively infuse their public equity investment strategies with a private equity mentality and discipline.
StoneWater’s principals have a competitive advantage in finding, evaluating, selecting, and working with such fundamental managers because of our experience as private equity investors and our ability to analyze portfolios on a security-by-security basis, as investors picking investors.
