Stokes Foundation designs and delivers residential education programs for adolescents whose basic needs are not fully met at home, in school, or in their communities. The organization builds urban boarding school models in partnership with existing public, charter, parochial, and private schools, adding dormitory-based support to students’ regular
school day. Its residential model provides structured housing, supervision, and programming for students facing high risk factors but demonstrating resilience and capacity to succeed in dorm life. Stokes Foundation collaborates with real estate and nonprofit partners to develop dormitory facilities and related mixed-use projects, including pilot programs for high school students. The foundation raises funds for capital costs, furniture and equipment, and operating expenses required to run these residential programs.
