Russell Optics manufactures custom precision optics and related optical components for technical and industrial applications. The company focuses on plano optics and optical flats, including fused quartz optical flats in a wide range of diameters, supplied with certification to N.I.S.T. It fabricates custom mirrors, prisms, ultraviolet and laser
windows, and substrates in various optical-grade materials such as BK7, quartz, fused silica, borofloat-type glass, and Zerodur. Russell Optics also provides lapping and polishing services for windows, mirrors, and optical flats, including both high precision and test plate quality. In addition, it offers reconditioning and recertification services for customer-supplied optical flats, using interferometric testing systems to verify flatness before certification.
