ReLeaf Michigan is a nonprofit organization that plants trees and restores urban and rural tree canopies through partnerships with communities and volunteer groups. The organization coordinates public-land tree planting projects with cities, schools, neighborhoods, and other organizations, teaching volunteers how to properly plant and care for
trees. ReLeaf Michigan provides educational workshops and presentations for residents, community forums, and school children on the importance of trees, species selection, and long-term maintenance. It also supports stormwater and water-quality projects by planting trees that help filter and protect regional water resources. In addition, ReLeaf Michigan runs the Michigan Big Tree Hunt, a recurring contest that engages the public in identifying large trees and raises awareness of tree conservation. The organization offers technical project assistance and hosts webinars to expand community knowledge about tree-related environmental solutions.
