Company Performance Metrics
Recon Polymers develops and operates a mechanical recycling process that converts PolyAl, the polymer and aluminum residue from used beverage cartons, into reusable plastics. The company processes PolyAl after paper mills recover paper fibers, handling a mixture of polymers such as HDPE, LDPE, and PP combined with aluminum foil. Its process
separates LDPE and aluminum foil from harder fractions like HDPE caps and closures, achieving high material recovery yields. The plant uses mechanical principles and does not add water, chemicals, or heat in the separation step. Recon Polymers supplies plastics that are directly suitable for further processing into end-market applications, supporting the use of PolyAl as a raw material in plastic production. Its activities support circular use of beverage carton components across the recycling and plastics value chain.
