Quail is a store management and point-of-sale (POS) system for SMBs in the antique, resale, and consignment space. Market research suggests that there are thousands of such stores in the American South and Midwest alone. Our core customers are non-technical store owners looking to move beyond pen-and-paper sales tracking, along with newly-opening
stores that are looking for an easy-to-use point of sale system. We make money by charging those stores a tiered monthly fee for access, and in the process acquire a large base of dedicated users from each store’s vendors; these vendors act as our moat (the hate change) and as a word-of-mouth marketing as they move between stores. Quail’s core product is the POS system, but we also upsell additional products targeted at vendors (personal inventory tracking) and large, back-office-heavy stores (automated rent collection).
