Perfect World Co., Ltd. is a North American online games publisher that develops online games based on proprietary game engines and game development platforms. It develops games based on the platform of Angelica 3D game engine, Cube engine, and Eparch 2D engine.
The company’s portfolio of self-developed online games includes massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs) such as Perfect World I and II, Legend of Martial Arts, Zhu Xian, Chi Bi, Pocketpet Journey West, Battle of the Immortals, Fantasy Zhu Xian, Forsaken World, Dragon Excalibur, Empire of the Immortals, Return of the Condor Heroes, Saint Seiya Online, Swordsman Online, and Holy King. It has also developed an online casual game called Hot Dance Party as well as a number of other web games and mobile games.
Perfect World was launched in Beijing, China in 2004 and was listed on the U.S. NASDAQ stock exchange on July 26, 2007. It has wholly-owned subsidiaries to operate its games independently in North America, Europe, and Japan, and has successfully licensed its games to a number of game operators in in Asia, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and other Russian-speaking areas.
