Jumia Group, formerly Africa Internet Group Jumia is an online retailer specialized in electronics, fashion, home appliances, and children’s items. Its aim is to become the one-stop shop for retail in Nigeria with implementation of best practices both online and offline. It was initially started with three employees and now it has staff strength of 1000 young and entrepreneurial Nigerians.
Jumia delivers its products and services to all 36 states in Nigeria. It built the first e-commerce academy in Nigeria, the Jumia Academy, building young entrepreneurs pioneering various aspects of business in Nigeria.
Jumia was launched in 2012 by Peter Allerstorfer and Manuel Koser. It is based in Cairo.
