Cargo Carriers was established in 1956 by Desmond Bolton. His two sons, Murray (Executive) and Garth Bolton (Executive), are actively involved in the Company.
When Cargo Carriers listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1987, the company was one of the largest privately owned transport operations in Southern Africa.
Their strategic focus
shifted in 2002. their vision was to become more than a reliable and efficient haulier, and they reinvented theirselves as a specialist logistics and supply chain service provider.
They have since created a service and value combination tailored to clients within those sectors that suit their unique capabilities and experience: Sugar, Steel, Powders, Fuel, Chemicals, Gas and Mining.
They also have a dedicated Supply Chain Solutions division offering a cost-effective trading business, and the supply and deployment of best-in-class logistics software and systems on both a consulting and implementation basis.
Today, their operations cover the entire SADC region, stretching from Cape Town in South Africa to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
