APERION is the Enterprise AI Trust Fabric: runtime governance for AI agents in regulated industries. Its core product, SmartFlow, is an on-premises control plane that sits in the call path between an AI agent and the model it uses. Every prompt, every response, and every tool call passes through it, where policy is enforced inline before anything
leaves the enterprise perimeter.
SmartFlow is Kubernetes-native and runs inside the customer's own environment, with no cloud dependency and no third-party exposure of model traffic. It provides gateway routing across model providers, inline policy enforcement, semantic caching, AI agent identity, and regulatory examination evidence mapped to frameworks including the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, FINRA, and HIPAA. Shield, APERION's open-source MCP middleware, is the front door to the platform.
APERION's thesis is that cloud-based AI governance will never satisfy a Tier 1 bank or a regulated healthcare system, because the model, the policy engine, and the audit trail all have to live inside the enterprise perimeter. The company holds five patents filed across runtime governance, identity binding, and audit evidence, and is built for financial services, insurance, healthcare, and defense.
