Alexander First Nation is a Cree First Nations band government that oversees governance, community services, and economic development for its members. The Nation administers programs in areas such as health, housing, public works, recreation, fire and safety, and social development. It supports education and language revitalization through
dedicated education initiatives and cultural programming, including a traditional powwow and other community events. Through the Alexander Business Centre, it operates ventures such as fuel and convenience retail and safety and construction services that create employment and generate revenue. The Nation also participates in regional water protection and treaty-focused initiatives, and runs job readiness and other programs that help members build skills and connect with employers.
