Aalto Entrepreneurship Society (AES) is a Finnish, student-run society decreasing the perceived threshold hindering students to become entrepreneurs. The society was founded in January 2009 by upcoming Aalto University students and has organized numerous events and provided its network ever since. The mission of AES is to make the surrounding world more entrepreneurial by creating an ecosystem of students, alumni, mentors, universities, investor, startups etc.
The AES is lead by eight board members. The board is elected once in a year for one year period. However, the important part of AES is the AES team. The team consists of 30 members at the moment. Both the team and the board work at grass root while the administrative tasks are carried out almost only by the board.
To date AES has helped the formation of a couple of startups as well as offered its support to existing startups.
