zkBox is a scalable, secure and fault-tolerant storage solution for highly-sensitive data.
If you are a developer working on an application dealing with sensitive data and you’re looking for a way of handling it, but without disclosing it to a 3rd party and without reinventing the wheel by developing your own custom solution, you came to the right place!
You can see zkBox as a privacy-as-a-service solution specifically designed for these kinds of situations: to store completely anonymously and reliable your encrypted data.
zkBox comes as a hosted web service running in the Amazon Cloud as EC2 instances having Amazon SimpleDB and Amazon S3 as storage backend. For total security, own installation within the perimeter of your company is also possible.
zkBox is designed having security and confidentiality as top priority. All user’s data is encrypted and decrypted locally by the client libraries provided (e.g. JavaScript+ASP.NET, C#); the data travels and it’s stored in the encrypted form in zkBox. Moreover, all the encryption is done using the user’s key which is never sent out. Because of this, not even Amazon or zkBox staff will be able to peek at your data; the user is the only one who can access it.
