Windows Live Mesh

Utilizing elements of AtomPub, Feedsync, the Microsoft Sync Framework, and SSDS, Live Mesh will sync information across computers and devices, and store information in the cloud, accessible from the web. It will resolve conflicts with collaborative syncing, and allow for inviting others to collaborate on mesh folders stored in the cloud. A client installed on local devices will produce “Live Mesh folders”, wrapping them in a way that they can be easily synchronized. Live Mesh will allow remote access to devices in “the mesh”, not only allowing for access to files and folders, but applications as well.

I use Mesh every day and I must admit, it is quite good. Mesh is good, but its implementation is close to disastrous. I seriously doubt whether these guys have actually used the programs themselves. Try it yourself and see.

Hope they keep supporting this and expand the 5GB limit. Takes care of so many things in one app!! Awesome.

Very interesting concept. It appears that Microsoft thinks that cloud computing is something they should be looking after to not lose any app competiton from google, Zoho, etc. However, its the longer term commitment and development that will be interesting to watch.

Live Mesh is the technology which has potential to help fulfill the promise of truly Rich Internet Applications and save us from the ones which lock us in the browser. Simply Awesome! I love it.
