S-911 Personal Locator is a new bread of a personal emergency communication device. It combines three important functions in one sleek compact design: a GPS tracker, an emergency cell phone, and a GPS receiver.
As a GPS tracker the S-911 locator constantly receives signals from the GPS satellites, determines its own location, speed and heading, and transfers this information to a remote server over a GPRS cellular network based on time or distance interval or on demand. In addition to the regular location information the locator generates and sends event alerts such as overspeed, geofence, shock, or emergency based on its settings and sensor readings.
As an emergency cell phone it provides with two-way voice communication over a GSM cellular network and is able to receive a call from any number, make a call to up to three pre-programmed phones numbers and send an emergency alert.
As a GPS receiver the device communicates its location information to any other device (a computer, for example) over a USB connection using a standard NMEA protocol.
