Qbox is a hybrid desktop/web application that streams music from social networks. Qbox indexes the music inventories of top social media sites including MySpace, YouTube and Bebo, making it easy for users to search, organize, and listen to the entire catalog of free and legal online music available from social networks.
Qbox aims to be the online remote control for all available music in these social networks. It offers seamleass continous playback of music from various social sites, music bookmarking and online management of music, and music feed among friends. Qbox also acts as a collaborative database of streaming music, continually edited and improved by users and artists.
Key features of Qbox’s service include: seamless playback, music bookmarking and online management, and Music Feed (similar to Facebook’s News Feed). Qbox also offers a proprietary music recommendation service based on its analysis of the friends lists of the 3 million MySpace musicians.
Later this summer, Qbox will also go live with its Link-2-Music application, a new feature to complement its current service. With the downloadable, browser-based Qbox Toolbar, artists and song titles in Google Music and Wikipedia will be converted to streaming music links instantly playable in Qplayer.
