The Palm EOS, also called the “Pixie”, was broken by TechCrunch in April 2009. It has also been called the “Castle”, and the “Mini-Pre”.
The Pixie will use the same WebOS operating system and software as the Palm Pre, but in a smaller candy-bar form factor and a target $99 price point, say our sources. It will be released only a few months after the Pre in June, so this isn’t an upgrade device. It’s targeted at the lower end of the market.
The EOS will have:
* 4GB of internal memory
* Tentative price of $349 before rebates. (Target price point of $99)
* 2MP camera, fixed focus, with flash
* Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP and EDR, USB 2.0 via micro USB
* 1150mAh battery, removable
* SMS, MMS, built-in IM client
* A-GPS
* WAV, MP3, AAC, AAC+ ringtones, MPEG4, H.264, H.263 video playback.
The Palm EOS will likely be provided on the AT&T network.
