While traditional network management platforms use a centralized SNMP-based polling paradigm, PacketSmart uses distributed media generation and Deep-Packet-Inspection (DPI) technology to manage the entire lifecycle of a converged media network. The lifecycle management approach goes beyond simple monitoring by facilitating the design, deployment, and SLA management of distributed converged media networks.
