NillaHedge is a portfolio manager for stocks and options with extensive analytical capabilities. It’s major components include PortfolioNavigator (at left), OptionAnalyzer, HedgeExplorer, OptionChainRetriever, RateSensitivityExplorer, TimeDecayExplorer, VolatilityValueExplorer, PositionTranscripts, and the Positions dialog. YieldCurveFitter and StrategyExplorer are complementary tools.
The OptionChainRetriever fetches the current stock price and options market data including strike price, market price, expiration date, and various indicators of market activity.
The OptionAnalyzer reports Black-Scholes value, implied volatility, delta, gamma, theta, rho(r), rho(D), vega, elasticity, and the probability of closing in the money.
The HedgeExplorer provides a graphical view of hedge and spread profitability based on Black-Scholes value for the underlying stock and three options drawn on the same underlying across a range of the underlying stock’s prices.
The RateSensitivityExplorer depicts portfolio value and that of four options across a range of interest rates.
The TimeDecayExplorer depicts portfolio value and that of four options against the passage of time.
The VolatilityValueExplorer depicts portfolio value and that of four options vs. the underlying stock’s volatility.
The Positions dialog allows you to create, delete, or modify positions for a given stock or option, displaying existing positions for the option with each row showing purchase date, shares or options, purchase price, market value, capital gain, income (for stocks), net gain, and annualized yield. Issue totals for each column are also displayed, except that the issue’s annualized yield is the cost weighted average of the annualized yields for the individual positions.
PortfolioNavigator provides a similar, though read only view of the issues in the portfolio in a folding spreadsheet paradigm, with position rows interspersed with issue summary rows, and a portfolio level summary at the bottom.
PositionsTranscripts provide portfolio information in a plain text format that can be saved to a file, e.g. for handoff to your tax accountant.
