Learnit uses the techniques of the advertising industry to help you learn.
Members can choose between Learnit content (10 words a day from one of 22 language pairs:free), or input their own content (subscription).
Via an affiliate program, content is spun out onto a variety of websites. Affiliate ads contain the lists selected by learners. Any publisher can join the affiliate program (therefore providing personal, user generated content to visitors), and sponsored ads are also available for brand advertisers.
The Learnit widget is a mashup which includes a Virtual Teacher (subscription), recordings, tests, grammatical info, a translator, and a directory signposts learners to other web 2.0 learning resources (all free).
Learnit is currently available on Facebook, MySpace & Twitter, and can be placed on any website (all free).

Latest news: The Learnit API makes the 10 daily words (in 22 languages) available to other developers to integrate into their own materials as creatively as they choose. Learnit is seeking games developers to integrate the daily content in interesting games for language learners.
