LAN Bridger is a consumer-oriented VPN tool. It allows for decentralized hosting and managing of networks. It is developed by Echobit LLC, a startup based in Minneapolis, MN.
LAN Bridger attempts to contrast itself from its competitors by giving users a large degree of control over how their networks operate and who can join them. It makes no assumptions about IP ranges, ports, or authentication mechanisms.
It is currently available for Windows, and supports Windows XP through Windows 7 in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavors. Work is in progress for a Linux and Mac OS X version, although no release date has been revealed for these versions.
