Jaxtr is a VOIP service which connects users to their online communities via a widget which they place on their blog or web page. Others can then call the user for free by entering their phone number. When their phone rings, they pick up and the call is connected. The service is currently free but has some limitations. Users are given a limited number of minutes per month, and after that is used up all calls are directed to voicemail. Users can also receive text messages and voicemail, but it is through the website rather than a user's mobile phone.
Premium memberships are available at different levels depending on one’s international calling needs: $2.95 for up to 350 minutes per month, $7.95 for up to 1,000 minutes per month and $19.95 for up to 2,500 minutes per month.
