HighNote aspires to bring people closer together by providing them a new, more social way to message with each other.
A significant shift in the way people communicate is underway, due, in no small part to the power and popularity of smart phones. Prized for its real–time brevity, the most popular form of messaging, SMS, is used widely and billions of messages are sent worldwide on a daily basis. Today, social networks and notably Facebook, have become the standard by which people share large amounts of information in their ever-widening social circles.
Between these well-established constructs, a new and distinct consumer communications need has arisen…
The problem: For many types of communication, SMS has proven to be too restrictive in the degree of personal expression and flexibility it offers. This paid service is effective for basic communications but it was never designed for rich social interactions. Social networks, while designed for that purpose, lack some of the immediacy desired when connecting with friends and have become rather “public” as personal networks expand.
The opportunity: HighNote was created to fill that gap: when consumers require more richness than SMS can offer without foregoing the immediacy and intimacy that social networks struggle with. HighNote is designed for social communications among your close circles of friends – the ones that play a big part in your life and are found in your personal contact list. Social communications revolve around the ability to share and rate music, videos or pictures, organize outings, exchange greeting cards and locations, and make your social life easier to manage.
Our mission is to help friends interact more richly with their friends whether they are next door or halfway around the world and to make this new medium for free messaging available for all HighNote users to enjoy.
