Headup is a semantic web Firefox addon that presents the user with textual and rich media content related to the objects and terms it identifies on the pages the user browses. Headup identifies people, companies, places, bands, movies, books and more and has a basic understanding of the relationships between them: For example, Headup understands that a “person†can work for a “companyâ€, a “band†can publish a “track†and a “city†contains “places of interestâ€. Headup displays the information and the rich media content it discovers in an overlay interface that appears above the user’s Firefox’s active tab. This way the user can get the relevant content Headup discovers without ever having to lose focus on the point of origin. Headup is being developed by SemantiNet, an Israeli startup company founded in 2006 and based in Tel Aviv.
