Google Web Toolkit

Google Web Toolkit (GWT) is an open source framework for creating client-side web applications that allows developers to write and debug applications in Java and then automatically convert them to JavaScript and HTML.

Working in Java enables developers to use the extensive tools available for that language, and the Java to JavaScript/HTML compiler that performs the conversion assures that the resulting code is small, fast, and works in all browsers.
