Die ESL Major Series
The ESl Major Series supports Games that are usually not included at first level international tournaments. A total prize pot of 15.000 Euro and additional hardware prizes (overall 30.000 Euro) are sponsored by ASUS and e-bug.de. The games are run on Gamed.de servers. The ESL Major Series features ten games selected from the action, strategy and sports genres. The season of the ESL Major Series is played using the Round-Robin system. That means using a fixed schedule and playdays as well as every team plays any other team at least once.
It is the highest level of international competition in the ESL for the following games: Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike:Source, Counter-Strike 1.6 Female, Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, Defense of the Ancients, Enemy Territory, FIFA 08, Pro Evolution Soccer, Team Fortress 2 and Unreal Tournament 3. Offline finals will be held in selected games.
