The ESL European Nations Championship is the European Cup of eSports. The first season started in 2004 with the games Counter-Strike 1.6 and Warcraft 3. Today these games are still being played. Additionally the current FIFA game and Counter-Strike: Source are part of the ESL European Nations championship. Every season the Electronic Sports League invites all European countries to participate with their national teams in these games. Using a nation ranking and qualification rounds 12 teams make it to the final group stage. The four best teams qualify for the grad final at the Games Convention. The ESL European Nations Championship is supported by Intel, Asus, adidas and Gamed.de.
