Zig Serafin oversees the vision, product strategy and R&D for Microsoft-wide innovations in building the spoken information graph and spoken language understanding software and services, including Microsoft Tellme, Microsoft Exchange, Office Lync, Windows, Windows Phones, Bing and Xbox Kinect.

Zig was a founder and a general manager of Microsoft’s Unified Communications Group where he oversaw the growth and development of the company’s products and services in mobility, VoIP/call processing, unified messaging, audio/web/video conferencing and instant messaging. Microsoft’s Unified Communications efforts have received many technical and design industry awards. Serafin has co-authored several thought papers for IT leaders, including recently a thought paper entitled: “Rallying Strategies for Collaboration and Global Success.”

Previously, Serafin was senior director in Microsoft’s Corporate Development Group, where he developed the Company’s strategies, new R&D investments and partnerships in wireless, security and data center platforms
