I am the founder of planbus.com. I am a china-born entrepreneur that graduated from University of Toronto in Canada and went back to China to start the company with an angel funding of $50,000 usd from my relatives and friends. I’m also in the process of raising a series A financing.

My product is Web Syndication Engine. It’s much like plaxo’s pluse service, but with more choices(that means, more websites are supported). Because the technology is not only depend on those websites which support RSS(like what plaxo is doing now) but can syndicate any readable and valuable web contents.

The technology is based on analyzing the structure of a webpage contents using our auto filtering parser bot. At the time when a user delivered an URL the bot will automatically parse the document and extract the repeating contents from within that page. Those contents are marked ‘valuable’ by our system and provide to the user for confirmation. Each confirmed result will generate a pulse event and ready for our system to check for future updates of the specific URL.

My current work can nearly successfully parse up to 70% of whole internet webpages. We’re still working forward to improve our parser bot.

Planbus will serve Chinese internet users and syndicate most web2.0 websites. It will help users to check when the website has new contents updated and then push to users’ pulse page, shared with contact list or in-site friends. The potential of this market is big since we are to be the first company that brings the technology to China.
