Zak Greant is an open source advocate and strategist best known for his work with MySQL AB and the Mozilla Foundation.
In the last decade, he has worked with key free software and open source organizations, including the Free Software Foundation (where he served as a part of the Free Software Foundation’s license compliance team) and the Open Source Intiative (where he was a staff member and board observer.)
For better or worse, he co-authored MySQL’s exception to the GPL and participated in two of the committees that helped draft version 3 of the GPL.
A frequent presenter, he has given over a hundred presentations at dozens of major open source and technology events in the last decade, and has organized key events like the MySQL User Conference.
