Yoav Shoham is Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University, where he has been since receiving his PhD in Computer Science from Yale University in 1987. His research has spanned AI, logic, game theory, and electronic commerce. He has published widely in these areas and has received multiple academic awards. In 1998 he founded TradingDynamics and served as its chairman, until its sale to Ariba (ARBA) in 1999 for $400M. His most recent company is Katango (original named CafeBots), which was founded in 2010 and where he serves as chairman.
