Wolfgang Nickl, executive vice president and chief financial officer, is responsible for Western Digital's financial planning and analysis, operations finance, accounting, treasury, credit, tax, investor relations and internal audit functions. From 2005 to 2010, Nickl served as vice president of finance. During the prior two years, Nickl was vice president of worldwide business operations and has served in several other roles in finance, supply chain management and IT in Europe, as well as in the U.S. Nickl was instrumental in Western Digital's acquisition of Komag in 2007 and several other business development projects.

Prior to joining Western Digital, Mr. Nickl worked at IBM Global Services as a consultant for SAP costing and finance applications. Nickl holds a Bachelor's degree in business from the University of Cooperative Education Stuttgart, Germany, where he received a full scholarship from IBM, and a master's degree of business administration from the University of Southern California.
