Prior to joining GFG Group as a founding shareholder in 1991, Bill Crocker had managed card operations, then systems and data processing at the American Express Cards franchise in New Zealand in a career spanning a dozen years. This led to a successful consulting career, specialising in credit card system design and applications of smart card technology. One of those assignments led to the design and build of a card management system for a bank that then became a product marketed around the world.
At GFG Group his customer consulting assignments have spanned technical consultancy, implementation management, credit card industry research, banking seminars, critical review of credit card operation and advice on automation planning.
Bill Crocker has effectively become an authority on the technology convergence driving through the global payments market. He applies this expertise to his role in guiding GFG’s product development as Chief Technology Officer while maintaining the all important grounding of mentoring and working with select customers on the associated business implications and opportunities.
