Vary Yong
Since young, Vary’s goal has always been to start his own business. He has tried selling his own newspaper in primary school, developed rich media CDs in secondary school and started an e-commerce store (The Concept Shop) to name a few.
Vary also developed Singapore’s first credit card comparison and privilege redemption web portal titled “Membersoffer.com”(now defunct) in ColdFusion and it took part in Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Technopreneurship Competition in 2001.
He was greatly inspired by the book “The E-Myth Revisited” by Michael E. Gerber before embarking on his entrepreneurship journey. Having his first taste of the internet industry shortly before the dot.com bubble burst, Vary has gained substantial amount of working experience in different fields of this industry till date, from E-Learning, E-Commerce, Web Development to Internet Marketing. Vary also co-founded Singapore’s premier location-based matchmaking web portal WhoWorksAroundYou.com.
Vary strives to be a visionary in his business, being able to set goals and directions that will benefit the company in terms of sustainability and growth. He believes that his business must benefit those who he works with.
