Valerie M. Russo is a writer, poet, occasional anthropology graduate student and founder of the Literanista blog. She was born and raised in Spanish Harlem, NYC. She received her BA in anthropology and English from the Hunter College of the City University of New York. Her poetry was recently published in Regrets Only: Contemporary Poets on the Theme of Regret, an anthology.
Once awarded the Langston Hughes Award for Writing, she currently works as a web publicist at Hachette Group Book USA and blogs about books and social issues at Literanista. Formerly, she was an AOL senior research editor scouting the web2.0 tech beat in the ever-unfaltering City of New York.
