Ursheet brings 15 years of enterprise product and leadership experience to Mayfield Fund. He joins the Firm as a Partner from Microsoft where he was a GM for marketing in the server, cloud, and tools business. Ursheet was a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of StorSimple, the leading cloud-integrated storage company that was acquired by Microsoft. Some milestones at StorSimple included raising capital in the post-2008 recession climate, investing less than $10M to release product within two years of founding, creating the new category of cloud-integrated enterprise storage, becoming the preferred partner to large public cloud storage providers, acquiring 100+ enterprise customers, and getting to $10+ million revenue run-rate before acquisition.
Prior to StorSimple, Ursheet was a product management & marketing executive for Cisco. At Cisco he took the WAN acceleration product line from concept to market leadership in 2008. Ursheet came into Cisco through the acquisition of Andiamo Systems, where he held a product management role for the storage networking product line. Prior to that, Ursheet also worked at two other startups that did not have the success of his later companies and believes that those experiences made him a better entrepreneur. He developed a customer-facing outlook at Deloitte Consulting where he worked as analyst, technical architect, and project leader for a range of data-center, networking, and applications IT infrastructure projects in multiple industries.
Ursheet holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a computer science and engineering graduate of IIT Bombay.
Ursheet looks forward to working with passionate entrepreneurs of early stage companies, helping them find product/market fit, build great companies, make an impact, and deliver value to founders, employees, and investors.
