Turi Munthe is an angel, advisor and serial entrepreneur, with an interest in Media, Social Enterprise, Politics and the Middle East.
He was Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Seedcamp: the most connected international seed investor in the world and Europe’s leading micro-seed investment and mentoring programme.
Prior to Seedcamp, Turi founded Demotix, the multi-award winning (Webby, Guardian Innovation, British Airways Young Business, Mashable Open Web, SXSW and others) citizen newswire, which he sold to Bill Gates’ Corbis Images in November 2012.
The Telegraph described Demotix as “Journalism for the 21st Century”. Demotix sells breaking and archive news images/video daily all over the world.
Turi has been a writer, publisher, editor, policy analyst, lecturer, journalist and talking head. He serves as an advisor/board-member to a number of tech and media start-ups, as well as several charitable institutions, and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
