world”. In just a few years, he rose to become VP of Engineering at a large blue chip, but at the same time discovered the delights of affiliate marketing. After consulting for the PartyGaming SEO team and running his own affiliate projects, Tony joined Ayima to become the company’s first US based consultant. Tony now heads up an office in his home state of North Carolina, with a strong team of SEO Consultants and link development experts.
At the turn of the millennium, Tony’s portfolio of affiliate websites grew into the hundreds, but it was after meeting Mike Nott at PubCon Las Vegas in 2004 that he became more involved in Corporate SEO. Tony was drawn to SEO’s promise of large audiences with relatively little investment. “SEO is exciting, at least from a technology background. I could collect a lot of data to see who I could target as an audience, how I could go about grabbing their attention, and then track who actually visits the site.”
For Tony, it is the software that sets Ayima apart. “The edge comes from being able to get a good picture of the competitor’s landscape, how to act on it, and then be able to measure those results - I don’t know any other agencies can do that on our scale.”
When not working on rankings, Tony is a keen gardener - as long as it’s not mosquito season! Tony is also a fan of surf fishing, a form of angling which involves casting the line out beyond the surf in order to catch the big fish.
