Tony Abou-Assaleh

Tony joined GenieKnows Inc. as Director of Research and Development in June 2006. GenieKnows is a private online advertising and search engine company based in Halifax, Canada. Tony has been leading the development and research teams in creating innovative search-engine and advertising technologies. As an established team leader and researcher, Tony advances GenieKnows towards its vision of connecting people, products, and places.

Tony received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree with first-class honours from Brock University in 2001, a Master of Mathematics in Computer Science degree from University of Waterloo in 2003, and a PhD in Computer Science from Dalhousie University in 2008. His research interests include online advertising, social media, text analytics, machine learning, distributed systems, search engines, and privacy and security.
