As vice president of business development at Sportgenic, T.J. is responsible for sales and business development efforts to publishers and media partners in all of Sportgenic’s sports audience categories.
Prior to his position as vice president of business development, T.J. served as general manager, core brands where he was responsible for leading the sales, marketing and technology efforts to endemic advertisers. Prior to his position as GM, T.J. was responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications for Sportgenic, including publisher and advertiser products.
Before Sportgenic, T.J. served as vice president of marketing for LookSmart, an online advertising and technology company, where he was responsible for the marketing and growth of the company’s self-service advertisers. During his tenure, he and his team added thousands of new advertisers and increased the average monthly spend per advertiser by 60%.
Prior to LookSmart, T.J. served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Clear Capital, a privately held company that reached #30 on Inc. Magazine’s Fastest Growing Companies list in 2006. Clear Capital markets a host of services to a multiple channels in the mortgage banking industry.
His more than 14 years of experience includes developing and executing sales and marketing strategies in a wide range of industries, including technology, sports, travel, mortgage banking and real estate for companies such as Anheuser-Busch, LookSmart, AT&T and a host of early stage start-ups. T.J. has client and agency experience.
T.J. holds an M.S. in business and marketing from San Francisco State University and a B.S. in business and marketing from Chico State University
Having grown up in Squaw Valley, California, near Lake Tahoe, T.J. is passionate about free skiing, water skiing, mountain biking, cycling and hockey. He also is an enthusiastic sports fan who can be seen on the sidelines of triathlons, marathons, world cup ski races and major sporting events cheering on friends, amateurs and pro athletes.
