Tom is responsible for developing Digg’s advertising sales strategy, building the sales organization, and managing strategic relationships. Tom is a leader in online advertising with a strong track record in online media sales and product marketing with over 15 years of traditional and online experience. Prior to Digg, Tom spent over 7 years in sales and product marketing capacities at Yahoo! As Executive Director of Northwest sales, he led combined teams in display and search sales, helping performance and brand clients succeed online. As an Account Director, Tom was consistently Top 5 in sales at Yahoo working with clients such as AT&T Mobility, eBay, and Experian to develop ground-breaking strategies. In addition to his work in sales, Tom was Director of Product Marketing for Yahoo Mail, My Yahoo and Messenger where he is credited for developing many of the advertising strategies and ad units that have propelled such market leading products as Yahoo Mail to grow from $20 Million to over $300 Million in annual revenue.
Prior to Yahoo, Tom was product manager for Ask.com, where he developed Search monetization utilizing Overture (Goto.com). In addition, Tom spent time with WellsFargo.com as an online product strategist, California Bank & Trust as Asst. VP of Corporate Marketing, and began his career at Dae Advertising helping companies such as Wells Fargo, Miller Brewing, and Apple.
