Online and Mobile gaming executive.
Thom Kozik, a veteran Yahoo! and Microsoft exec, currently runs the startup Context Digital Media, a Publisher/Distributor of online & mobile games. Prior to launching Context he was most recently Exec VP of Atari, who brought Kozik on board in late 2009 to develop the company's Online and Mobile businesses, and leverage it's deep IP catalog.
Earlier in 2009, Kozik along with partner Nolan Bushnell (founder of Atari, and Chuck E. Cheese) formed Nüko Games as both an independent studio, and to roll-up fledgling online game developers, and intellectual property to capitalize on the growth in this category. Bushnell was subsequently re-named to the Atari Board of Directors.
Kozik's background includes several years at Microsoft working on early multimedia technologies, and ultimately MSFT's interactive television strategy. Among a handful of start-ups ventures, Kozik co-founded All-Seeing Eye -- a gamer matchmaking tool. All-Seeing Eye, Inc. was sold to Yahoo! in 2004 for an undisclosed sum.
Prior to Yahoo!, he served as Managing Director, NA for Bigpoint, the prominent Germany-based online game publisher. His background also includes a four-year internship at the National Security Agency, followed by several years in Product Management at Ashton-Tate, the former database software leader.
