Stuart Bowness has founded a number of successful web technology companies, including UI/UX design consultancy Simple Station, and MediaCore, which is a educationally focussed video platform.

He attended UFV, earning a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems. After finishing his degree in 2005 he immediately started Simple Station and began working with tech startups all over the world on UI and UX design issues. Over the past 7 years, Simple Station has evolved into a world-class design studio, working with some of the most interesting companies in tech, including a number of Fortune 500's.

His beginnings in design and web development led him eventually towards videography, which culminated in the evolution of an idea that ended up becoming his second company, MediaCore.

MediaCore was founded in 2010, and was originally started as an open source initiative at to help organizations organize and deliver media content in a way that was secure and private within the institution. Since launch the open source initiative has been adopted at over 120,000 organizations worldwide, and has been used at organizations like Dupont, Harvard, Stanford, Genentech, Mentor Graphics, Vienna University, and Rice University.

In August of 2011, he re-launched the platform as a cloud-based educational media platform, which currently serves both large and small institutions including well-known universities like Yale, Columbia University, Georgia Tech, Penn State, and the University of London.

Stuart has a deep passion for design, clean code, open standards, and growing businesses in emerging sectors, which has led him recently to focus on web video. Specialties
