Steven H. McCown

Steven H. McCown co-founded RFinity in 2008 and serves as Interim CEO and CTO. RFinity develops mobile payment technologies, which facilitate person-to-person payments between cell phone users and also enable cell phones to be used for payment at contactless credit card terminals. Prior to starting RFinity, McCown was a Principle Investigator with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory where he led research to discover attack vectors and create alternative uses for Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs), such as cell phones. McCown started his professional career as an officer in the United States Air Force where he built analysis software for the AWACS aircraft and virtual reality systems for the Air Force Research Laboratory. McCown has MS and BS degrees in Computer Science from Brigham Young University.
