Steve Jang

Steve is the co-founder and CEO of Schematic Labs, a San Francisco-based startup that conceives and makes social-location entertainment apps for the iOS and Android platforms. SoundTracking, made currently for only iOS platform, is the first app the company has developed. Combining music, photos, and geo-location, the SoundTracking app is a fun, expressive and easy way to share the soundtrack to your life.

Prior to founding Schematic Labs, Steve served as CMO at imeem (acquired by MySpace in 2009), where he was responsible for product, product marketing and business development at various stages of company growth. Joining in 2005 after the company’s first iteration as a social messaging client, Steve was a co-creator of imeem’s social music service, focused on playlists, with over 45 million registered users. The company also built the first search/playback developer API platform for music and won a Crunchies award for Best Mobile App.

Earlier in his career, Steve worked in product management, research and design at EMI Music’s Digital Development group, Xuma Technologies, WR Hambrecht, and Salon.com.

Steve is also an advisory board member and/or investor to innovative Internet companies such as Animoto, StumbleUpon, Conduit Labs (acquired by Zynga), StackMob, and Uber.
